Boy Scout Fruit Cobbler


Ingredients:


2 box lemon cake mix
1 lb margarine or butter
2 cans apple pie mix
2 tbl cinnamon

6 qt cast iron dutch oven

Preparation:

Line sides and bottom with aluminum foil (using 1 large piece, try to have few wrinkles)
Pour dry cake mix into bottom of dutch oven.
make a well in center and pour fruit mix. "Make sure fruit mix does not touch sides"
Sprinkle cinnamon around the mixture.
Cut margarine or butter into 1 inch patties and dot top of mix

"Do not mix"

Cook covered over open fire for 2 - 3 hours
Place 8 briquets on top for "oven effect"
Uncover after 1 1/2 hr and check if done.
If top lightly brown and med brown around sides.
Time to Eat.

Serves 8-10 boy scouts

Peach Same as above
Cherry Same as above (without cinnamon)
Pineapple Same as above but place rings with cherries in center, in bottom
Raspberries Same as above but, add 1 c sugar to raspberries before putting into cobbler.
(without cinnamon)
