Ready for another great breakfast? How about this zesty BRIE AND SAUSAGE casserole?

This tasty BRIE AND SAUSAGE BREAKFAST CASSEROLE gets its great, zesty flavor from the blend of Brie and Parmesan cheese, hot pork sausage, bread, cream, milk and cheese. These ingredients, together with the herbs and seasoning, blend together to create a delicious start to your day.

This great breakfast casserole, always a favorite, is best prepared the night before. For the perfect brunch, just add a fresh salad, toast, and some fresh fruit.

Brie and Sausage Casserole

Serves 4-6

INGREDIENTS:

bullet 8 oz Brie cheese
bullet 1 lb. hot pork sausage, ground
bullet 6 slices white bread
bullet 1 cup Parmesan cheese, grated
bullet 7 large eggs, divided
bullet 3 cups whipping cream, divided
bullet 2 cups fat-free milk
bullet 1 tablespoon sage, chopped fresh or 1 teaspoon dried
bullet 1 teaspoon seasoned salt
bullet 1 teaspoon dry mustard
bullet Chives, chopped, for garnish

PREPARATION:

bullet Trim and discard rind from top of Brie. Cut cheese into cubes and set aside.
bullet Cook sausage in a large skillet over medium-high heat, stirring until crumbled and no longer pink; drain well.
bullet Cut crusts from bread slices, and place crusts evenly in bottom of a lightly greased 13 X 9- inch baking dish. Layer evenly with bread slices, sausage, Brie, and grated Parmesan cheese.
bullet Whisk together 5 eggs, 2 cups whipping cream, and next 4 ingredients. Pour the mixture evenly over the cheese.
bullet Cover and chill at least 8 hours.
bullet Whisk together remaining 2 eggs and 1 cup whipping cream; pour evenly over chilled mixture.
bullet Let thaw for 30 minutes and bake at 350° for 50 minutes or until set.
bullet Garnish with chives, if desired.
