Classic barbecue sauce
This tomato-based barbecue sauce renders a delicious, rich
sauce which is simply great on ribs.
This recipe makes between 1 and 1/12 cups of sauce - prepare a couple of days beforehand, and store in the refrigerator to get all the flavors in delicious harmony. A genuine classic.

INGREDIENTS:
- 1 8-ounce can tomato sauce
- 1 6-ounce can tomato paste
- 2 tablespoons brown sugar
- 2 tablespoons vinegar
- 2 tablespoons olive oil
- 3 cloves garlic, crushed
- 1/2 cup onion, thinly sliced
- 2 tablespoons Worcestershire sauce
- 1 teaspoon dry mustard
- 1 teaspoon cayenne pepper
- Coarsely ground black pepper, to taste
PREPARATION:
- Heat olive oil in medium pan.
- Add onion and garlic, saute on medium high heat until onion is soft and transparent.
- Add remaining ingredients, mix thoroughly and allow to simmer for about 20 minutes.
Store the sauce in an airtight food saver container such as a canning jar or a ziplock storage bag until required.
