Try this great Classic BBQ Hamburger recipe

Hamburgers are very often a barbecue staple, they are easy to prepare, and ingredients and condiments can be very easily adjusted to suit the taste of friends and family.

Unfortunately, fast food joints have just about destroyed our conception of the classic hamburger - well, mine anyway. But when you use the best meats and freshest ingredients and follow the basics outlines detailed here, you'll have the making of an incredible hamburger sure to leave you - and your guests - with a taste for more. Give this classic bbq hamburger recipe a try:

Serves 6

INGREDIENTS:

bullet 1 1/2 pound lean ground beef
bullet 1/2 cup cooked and minced bacon
bullet 1/2 cup bar-b-que sauce
bullet 1 small minced onion
bullet 6 slices Cheddar or American cheese
bullet 6 hamburger rolls

PREPARATION:

bullet Mix ground beef, bar-b-que sauce, bacon and onion in a bowl. Shape into six patties
bullet Cover and refregirate for at least two hours
bullet  
bullet Grill patties over medium heat 4-6 minutes per side or until burgers reach an internal temperature of 160 degrees F
bullet

Add cheese slices to each burger one minute before cooking is completed, and toast buns on the grill, open side down, about 30 seconds

bullet Serve burgers with toasted buns, and garnish with your favorite toppings and condiments
bullet Tuck in!
