Cuban Burger

Cuban Burger

3pounds of ground beef (80/20)
6 tablespoons of cream cheese
3 cups of fried hash browns
6 Cuban Bread buns
fresh pepper
Guava BBQ Sauce (ingredients below)
12 ounces of guava cut into 1/2-inch pieces
1/2 cup apple cider vinegar
4 tablespoons tomato paste
4 tablespoons fresh lime juice
2 tablespoon soy sauce
2 tablespoon Worcestershire sauce
2 teaspoons minced fresh garlic
2 scallion, white part only, minced
1/3 cup red wine
Salt and freshly ground pepper

Complete Step-by-Step Cooking Directions:
Season the beef with salt and pepper, then incorperate well. divide into 4 equal portion of 8 ounces each. Each portion is to be divided in 1/2. Place 1 tablespoon of cream cheese on 1/2 of the beef and then place the other 1/2 on top. Seal the sides well so that the cream cheese does not seap out. Place the burger on the grill and cook for approximately 4 minutes and then flip. Cover with a lid until cooked to your liking. This will help steam the burger and help the cheese cook evenly inside.
To make the guava bbq sauce, take a sauce pan and tuen the heat to medium. Place the guava paste in the sauce pan and add all the ingredients. Cook until the guava melts and everything is well incorperated.
The hashbrowns can be made by simply frying in oill at 350 degrees and then drain on paper towel.
To assemble, take the beef patty and place on the bottom 1/2 of the cuban bun. Smother with the guava bbq sauce and then top with the hashbrowns. Complete by topping with the top part of the cuban bun.

Guava and cream cheese is a typical dessert for Cubans and this burger is the perfect combination of sweet and salty.
