Try Tammy's Classic Cucumber and Dill Summer Recipe

Quick and easy to make, this classic cucumber salad recipe is a delicious accompaniment to any type of grilled meat, especially on a nice sunny day.

Suitable for 6 salad servings  


  • 4 large cucumbers, thinly sliced (no need to peel)
  • 1 cup white vinegar
  • 3/4 cup water
  • 3/4 cup sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup fresh dill leaves
  • Salt and black pepper to taste    


  • Put the water in a saucepan and bring to boil over medium heat. Add the rest of the ingredients except the cucumber and dill. Heat and stir until the sugar dissolves.
  • Place the cucumber and dill in a suitable bowl, and pour in the mixture. Pour mixture over cucumbers and dill.
  • Store covered in refrigerator. Serve cool.
