2-28 oz cans bush's original baked beans 1- small onion chopped fine 3 Tablespoons of brown sugar 2- Tablespoons molasses 3to4 Tablespoons of ketchup 3Tablespoons kraft hickory smoke barbecue sauce 1-lb of smoked bacon cut in 1/2' strips
put all ingredients except bacon in cast iron dutch oven mix well then top with bacon cook over camp till bacon is done about 45 mins to 1 hour.
Jean's BBQ bake beans are the best. I have been making BBQ beans just like Jean has for years and in the old dutch oven. The dutch oven seams to give the beans the best tasting flavor. When cooking on an outdoor fire just give it a slight smoke flavor. Always start with Bush Orginal bake beans, the are the best. I have tried other bake beans but not as good.
