REALLY TASTY BBQ HAMBURGERS

by Dave Walters
(Stowe, Vermont)

Burgers-a-grillin'

Burgers-a-grillin'

3 lbs. ground beef
1 large onion
2 large lemons
1 large green bell pepper
1 clove garlic
1 bottle of bbq sauce - "your choice"

Slice onion, lemons, bell pepper and garlic and put them into a crockpot or Dutch oven. Add BBQ sauce and enough water to cover the burgers, then set the heat on low.

Make beef patties to preferred size, cook them on a charcoal grill until well done. They have to be well done or they will fall apart in the crock.

After the burgers are done on the grill, put them in the crockpot and slow cook them for one hour.

Serve on hamburger rolls with usual condiments and sides
